The Campion Sixth Form community is a place of welcome to all. Your different beliefs, backgrounds, languages, skills and journeys make our community stronger and better. Young men and women from across our local area come here to study A-levels and the BTEC in Sport or Business. Our mission, in accordance with our Jesuit tradition, is to foster ‘men and women for others’.
Set in the garden suburb of Havering, our Sixth Form is housed across two blocks. The main building is called ‘The Emmaus block’ which refers to the story in the New Testament of when Jesus accompanies two of his disciples on a journey. This journey is a stepping stone between GCSEs and the rest of your life it is your last stage before true adulthood. Here at Campion, we give you the opportunity to grow in ways you never thought you would, learn things you never knew and make decisions about your life that will last you forever, with us walking alongside you.
We offer an atmosphere of academic rigour in which curiosity and learnedness are fostered and prized. We give each student the chance to be leaders in our school. Our School Officials, House Captains, Senior Prefects, Social Justice Ambassadors, Peer Mentors and Subject Prefects are given a mandate to use their student voice to not just change our school but also our community. We work tirelessly and joyfully to raise money throughout the year for our charitable causes such as: the SMILE charity, the Sepsis Trust, St Francis Hospice, the Teenage Cancer Trust and for our Girls’ and Boys’ rugby tours. The crowning glory of our charitable work each year is on the last Sunday of the Christmas term when we host the OAP’s Christmas party for the pensioners of the area.
We are extremely proud of our outstanding Careers programme. In accordance with our Jesuit history, we believe that each of you is uniquely called to follow a vocation and live lives of purpose. Through outstanding Careers guidance from our qualified Careers Advisor and through our extensive Careers programme, we help you to discern what your pathway is. We use our very extensive Campion Alumni network as well as: Work Experience, Careers talks, Careers newsletters, Careers evenings for parents, the Oxbridge programme, the Scholars’ Pathway, the Medical, Veterinary and Dentistry pathway, the Law, Finance, Engineering and Liberal Arts Societies as well as the UCAS and Apprenticeship application programmes and our celebrated Careers Day to prepare our students to take the next step.
A key part of our success is our extremely experienced and supportive pastoral team. We understand that the jump from GCSE to Sixth Form life can be challenging. We also understand that while you are under our care, you become adults. The world can be difficult to navigate. We want to ensure that you always have a listening ear, that you always feel that there are people there to walk on that journey with you, no matter what happens.
We have a highly inclusive environment at our school. Our specialised SEND department offers tailored support to students with needs, we have our Bursary process and our Safeguarding procedures are extremely rigorous. We have two school counsellors who work with many members of our community as well as the Wellbeing Ambassadors who spearhead mental wellbeing and support initiatives.
Our Enrichment programme offers Games lessons each Wednesday afternoon as well as chess club and choir. Our PSHE curriculum is designed to embrace the challenges of modern life within a moral framework. We encourage all students to become orators through debate club and the ‘Campion Classroom’, our teaching and learning model that runs through each lesson. Each student is invited to take the EPQ and become an expert in the area of their choice learning skills that will support them in higher education. We have a long history of rugby prowess, being one of the best schools in the country for Sixth Form rugby. Many of our first XV go onto sporting scholarships and to play professionally. We are also proud of our netball, swimming, biathlon and football teams.
Overall, we offer you the chance to take your place in the world with academic credibility. We give you a safe, supportive and nurturing environment coupled with our high expectations of you in terms of self-presentation, punctuality and independent learning. However, success to us means sending you out into the world as people of moral righteousness and integrity. Wherever life takes you, whether you become lawyers, landscape gardeners, bankers, nurses, business owners, property developers, beauticians, pilots, whatever it is, success is having the integrity to be a voice for the voiceless, to speak truth to power and for the world to be a better place because you are in it.

WELCOME FROM THE SCHOOL CHAPLAIN
The Sixth Form is a unique part of our community. In recent years, those of you joining us from other local schools have been similar in number to our Year 11s who come through Campion and ‘stay on’. This makes you a cohort of students with a diversity of backgrounds and beliefs not seen among our Year 7s to 11s. For our ‘two-year’ learners, this might be your only opportunity to experience living in a community with a Christian ethos and to learn about the teachings of the Christian faith.
Two years ago, the Sixth Form Block was renamed the ‘Emmaus Centre’, from the post-resurrection encounter in St. Luke’s gospel. The story tells of Jesus walking and talking with disheartened and disappointed disciples. It is a rich metaphor for how we should be together in the Sixth Form; loving, caring, encouraging and serving one another, helping one another '…to see God in all things’. That’s why the ‘Emmaus Centre’ is an entirely appropriate name for your Sixth Form Block.
As a Catholic school, faith should permeate through all that we are and all that we do. Therefore, as well as taking a lead on some charity initiatives (e.g. our annual Senior Citizens’ Christmas party, ‘Blue Day’ for Teenage Cancer Trust and raising funds for CAFOD during Lent), the Chaplaincy assists in this aim through the organisation of pilgrimages and retreats, coordinating your Core RE lessons, delivering assemblies and producing our daily ‘Examen’ meditation and weekly ‘Celebrations of the Word’.
To conclude, we seek to provide enjoyable and enriching experiences for you to put into practice our school virtues, informing and equipping you to be agents of change for the ‘Common Good’ in our very needy world.

Being a leader at Campion is something I feel incredibly proud of. Having spent so many years as part of this community, I have experienced first-hand how much Campion can shape a person, not only academically, but through the people, opportunities and experiences that help us grow into the individuals we become.
When I first joined Campion, I never imagined that I would one day have the responsibility of becoming Head Boy. Like many students, I arrived with my own ambitions and expectations, but over the years I have grown in ways I could never have anticipated. From taking part in school events and competitions to getting involved in the wider life of the school, every experience has contributed to the person I am today.
What makes Campion special to me is its focus on character. The school encourages us to become more than just successful students; it challenges us to become people who are confident, responsible, compassionate and willing to contribute to the community around us. These are qualities that I have developed throughout my time here, and ones that I hope to demonstrate through my role as Head Boy.
Campion gives people what many of school don’t, the ability to grow. The changes and discoveries that you have during these year are the foundation for the rest of your life, so whether you are a academic weapon, thrive in the region of sport or have a interest in all thing in between, Campion will be the support you need.
Campion has given me countless opportunities to challenge myself, discover my strengths and become more confident in who I am. I am grateful for the teachers, students and experiences that have played a part in that journey, and I hope that as Head Boy I can give something back to the community that has given me so much.
To those joining Campion, I would encourage you to make the most of every opportunity, step outside your comfort zone and never underestimate what you are capable of. Your time here will pass quicker than you expect, so make memories, build relationships and allow Campion to help you discover the person you can become.
I truly believe that the memories and knowledge you gain here is uniquely beautiful and I am grateful to be the one who welcomes you to it.

As you can imagine, I was apprehensive about not only joining an all-boys school but coming from a non-religious school too, yet I felt embraced from the very first day I joined and knew that this was a place of family, unity and friendship. I have enjoyed all the aspects which make this an outstanding community, in both succeeding academically and thriving socially. I have truly felt the family spirit that this school embodies, and Campion has given me the chance be a part of the catholic community, and I have embraced the new traditions.
This school strives to focus on the students’ development through academic, extra-curricular and charitable opportunities. Whether this was the many student-lead charity events or organising a quiz night to raise money to help fund the OAPs Christmas Party and taking part in events such as blue day or hit the road, to raise money for charities close to our hearts. These incredible opportunities helped me to grow not only as a student but as a person in return.
There is something for everyone here, whether it be academics, sports or the arts, Campion has the ability to cater for everyone’s needs by supporting your current interests and helping you develop new ones. Academic excellence is of course important; however, Campion offers things that are far greater than grades such as personal development and friendship.
Without a doubt, I can recommend Campion as a prospective school for your child; I truly believe 2 years here is not enough, and I hope that Campion is the place for you.
